WHO SHOULD ATTEND

For those who wish to improve their knowledge and raise awareness of mental health for themselves and others, such as colleagues and friends, the Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health course is ideal.

Mental health has gained a lot of attention recently, and for good reason. Despite the fact that it was once and possibly still is a taboo subject, there is nothing taboo about it when it comes to family, friends, and colleagues. The main goal of this course is to teach participants how to identify those who may be affected by it and how to help them by improving their understanding of the topic. CPR is not the only approach that can save someone's life.

Mental Health Ambassador Paddy 'The Baddy' Pimblett once said “There’s a stigma in this world that men can’t talk. Listen, if you’re a man and you’ve got a weight on your shoulders and you think the only way you can solve it is by killing yourself – please speak to someone. Speak to anyone People would rather, I know I’d rather, have their mate cry on their shoulder than go to their funeral. So please, let’s get rid of this stigma and men start talking.”

CERTIFICATION AND ASSESSMENT

A combination of instructional strategies, including real-world scenario examples, movies, and group exercises, will be used to ensure you have the knowledge and understanding needed to promote mental health awareness. This course is available in-person with one of our Mental Health & Wellbeing trainers or online through Zoom. There will be a multiple-choice test at the end of the course.

After successfully completing the course, each participant will get a certificate indicating they attended the Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health. The First Aid Awards automatically approve certificates, which have a three-year validity term (FAA).
